Anvil Academy North is a Christian leadership academy that shapes boys into strong young men by challenging their minds, engaging their hearts, and putting their hands to work. Through blacksmithing, woodworking, outdoor adventure, athletics, and biblical discipleship, we provide meaningful experiences that develop character, confidence, and faith.
-
Our programs are primarily designed for boys ages 9–14. We welcome students from public schools, private schools, charter schools, cyber schools, and homeschool families.
-
Not at all. Most students begin with no experience using tools or working in a blacksmith shop. Our instructors provide step-by-step instruction while encouraging each student to grow at their own pace.
-
Yes. Safety is our highest priority. Every class begins with a safety orientation, students receive close instructor supervision, and appropriate safety equipment is provided and required throughout each project.
-
Students should wear:
Closed-toe shoes or boots
Long pants (recommended)
Comfortable clothing appropriate for working in a shop environment
Safety glasses and hearing protection are provided.
-
Absolutely! Every student takes home the projects they complete throughout the semester as a reminder of what they accomplished through hard work and perseverance.
-
Every class includes a brief leadership and biblical teaching designed to help students apply God's Word to everyday life. Our discussions focus on developing Christ-like character, servant leadership, integrity, humility, courage, and biblical wisdom.
-
No. Our goal isn't to prepare students for a specific career—it's to develop capable, confident young men. The skills learned through blacksmithing and woodworking teach perseverance, responsibility, problem-solving, and craftsmanship that benefit students regardless of their future profession.
-
That's perfectly okay. Many boys discover talents and confidence they never knew they had. Our instructors meet students where they are and celebrate growth, effort, and perseverance—not perfection.
-
Many of our students thrive in a hands-on environment where learning is active, purposeful, and engaging. While every child is unique, our programs are intentionally designed to challenge boys through meaningful work, movement, mentorship, and practical learning experiences.
-
Parents are welcome to remain on the property if they choose, but classes are designed as a drop-off experience so students can develop independence, responsibility, and relationships with their peers.
-
We intentionally maintain a high level of supervision by utilizing experienced instructors and trained volunteers so students receive individual guidance while working on projects.
-
At Anvil, the project is never the end goal.
We use blacksmithing, woodworking, adventure, and mentorship as tools to develop character, build confidence, cultivate brotherhood, and point boys toward Jesus Christ.
Our desire isn't simply to help boys build great projects.
It's to help them become great men.
