Forging Through History: Warriors of the Ancient World
September 14 – October 26
Travel back over 2,000 years as students forge their way through one of history's most iconic ancient weapons: either the Spartan War Spear or the Roman Pilum (Javelin), depending on the class they enroll in.
Each week, students will explore the civilizations that shaped the ancient world while learning traditional blacksmithing techniques under the guidance of experienced instructors. Along the way, we'll examine the discipline of the Spartans, the innovation of the Romans, and the leadership lessons that continue to shape strong young men today.
This fall's biblical teaching follows the Book of Judges, exploring the recurring cycle of compromise, courage, and God's faithfulness. As students forge steel with their hands, they'll also be challenged to forge lives marked by character, conviction, humility, and perseverance.
Whether returning or brand new to Anvil, students will leave with new blacksmithing skills, a deeper understanding of history, meaningful friendships, and a handcrafted project they'll be proud to take home.
Recommended Ages: 9–14ish
No prior blacksmithing experience is required. All tools, materials, and safety equipment are provided.
